Apparently there’s an MDX A-spec now.
And some TLXs. Plus a 2018 ILX hidden with them.

Yep, they’ve been on lots for over 3 months now. It’s mostly an appearance pack, but you do get active dampers that were on the S por t Hy brid model.

I don’t really care that there are “spec” versions of crossovers because let’ s finally all be honest with ourselves...they are the new sedan...but at least make it interesting.

A-Spec MDX is meh, but I do like how they brought back real exhaust tips. So that’s a win.

Agreed. An RDX Type S with the full CTR tune of the 2.0T would be something that would interest me if I were shopping for one, but as it is I’d rather have the more tech-oriented Advance package over an A-spec for any of these Acuras. (Full disclosure, that’s exactly what my TL is)

I’m not bothered either. It’s not optimal for performance but then neither is a four-door M3 or even a 2+2 sports car. Most buyers are balancing multiple desires, and if someone doesn’t want to sacrifice a high seating position, or even a more rugged image , there’s no reason why they shouldn’t still be able to buy the best car they can get with those constraints.

to say nothing of the fact that they are substantially more practical than sedans.

Well, you could always get a wagon (would of course be better if we had more choices). That will give you most of the practicality, though admittedly probably not quite as much. Or alternatively, get a minivan and get even more practicality! Where’s the TRD Sienna and the Pacifica Hellcat

Vans are decidedly uncool and manufacturers recognize that not many people are going to buy a Pacifica Hellcat.
I am also surprised that they have managed to make Cross Overs cool. But it is what it is.

I get the RDX Sh-Awd A Spec next week. Should be nice?

Of course part of the reason they are uncool is because they don’t bother to try to make them look cool, or market them as such.

I’m very interested. It’s on my list of things to check out after the TL is paid off. Unless it gets totaled, my next vehicle will be either a truck or crossover.

Heard the TLX Type-S with a V6 Turbo should be showing up at the New York Auto show. Now I want to see that at my local dealer to do a lil’ Opp o review

I’ll have a review on it! This is my first Honda/Acura so they want to see how it goes.

I found out the TL needs brakes, which I’m going to have to split replacement over two separate trips, so I’ll ask about it. Maybe that engine will make it to the MDX or RDX.

The only negative thing I’ve read about them is that there were some teething issues for the first batch of 2019s. I haven’t been on Acurazine in a couple months so I can’t remember the specifics.

Sorry!!! I have to submit two articles for Autotader tonight, then the Corolla review, then the Mazda Mazda6. I’ve also got a Toyota CH-R and now Kia Forte review and holy crap that’s so many.

This is true.

Do you know what color it’ll be? The blue is very striking. Someone was taking a TLX A-spec in blue out for a test drive when I was pulling in.

Not yet. I usually only figure it out when it pulls up .
